North Delta Pirates Name Brent Crowther as New Head Coach

NORTH DELTA - August 12, 2026

The North Delta Pirates are pleased to welcome Brent Crowther as the program’s new head coach, beginning with the 2026 fall ball season.

A North Delta native, Brent brings 47 years of experience in baseball as both a player and coach. His playing career took him from local and collegiate baseball to professional baseball, Team Canada and the highest levels of amateur competition.

Brent was selected by the Colorado Rockies in the 10th round of the 1994 MLB Draft and went on to pitch as high as AAA with the Colorado Springs Sky Sox. He was named the Rockies’ Minor League Pitcher of the Year in 1995.

He also represented Canada at three World Baseball Championships - in 1997, 2003 and 2005 - and played for a number of respected Canadian programs, including the Abbotsford Angels, NBI Blues, Kelowna Falcons and Coquitlam Angels.

Two of his most memorable experiences came while representing Canada. In 1997, Brent pitched a 1-0 complete-game win over Team USA at High Corbett Field, completing nine innings on just 90 pitches. Four years earlier, he was part of a Canadian team that defeated the 1993 Toronto Blue Jays 4-3 in Medicine Hat, pitching two scoreless innings.

Brent has also spent many years giving back to the game through coaching. His experience includes multiple teams with the North Delta Baseball Association, Delta Blue Jays, BC Summer Games, Western Canada Summer Games, Team BC Selects and the Canada Games. His teams have earned gold medals at the Western Canada Summer Games and with Team BC Selects, as well as silver at the BC Summer Games and Canada Games.

He has also been a guest coach with the Toronto Blue Jays and Junior Canada National Baseball Team and currently serves on the Canada High Performance Committee. He is a fully Level 3 NCCP-certified coach.

For the Pirates, having someone with Brent’s experience, knowledge and connection to the local baseball community join the program is a tremendous opportunity.

Just as importantly, Brent understands what it means to invest in young players and help them develop; not only as baseball players, but as teammates and people.

We’re excited to have him leading the Pirates into the 2026 fall ball season and beyond.

Welcome to the Pirates, Brent.
