Jeff Stebbings — Head Coach
For Jeff Stebbings, baseball is first and foremost about community.
Returning for the 2026 season as Head Coach of the North Delta Pirates, Jeff leads with a community-first philosophy grounded in family tradition and service. His approach reflects values passed down through generations — most notably from his father, Bill Stebbings, who was a respected educator, coach, and school leader at Seaquam Secondary, and who was known for his impact on student athletics and school culture.
Jeff proudly follows in his father’s footsteps. Where Bill believed sport was a vehicle for character, mentorship, and belonging, Jeff carries that same conviction forward. The Pirates program under his leadership is built not only on competitiveness, but on accountability, respect, and pride in representing the community.
The Stebbings family’s generational impact is formally recognized through the Bill Stebbings Memorial Scholarship which honours a graduating student-athlete who demonstrates sportsmanship, hard work, and community involvement. The award reflects the principles Jeff models each season – values that reflect a mentor who cares as much about character as performance.
Since beginning his coaching journey in North Delta in 2016, Jeff has coached at every level from 9U through 18U. Every team he has led has qualified for Provincials, including a Provincial Championship, a silver-medal finish, and two apprentice appearances. As a coach with the North Delta Pirates since 2023, the program has compiled an impressive 56-19-1 overall record. Yet for Jeff, success is measured as much by the growth of his players as by wins and banners.
Jeff holds Baseball Canada NCCP 16+ certification and as both head coach and a skill instructor, he develops hitters and pitchers with an emphasis on fundamentals, preparation, and baseball IQ. Equally important is the environment he fosters — one where players learn to support one another, give back to their community, and understand that wearing a North Delta Pirates uniform carries responsibility.
Under Jeff Stebbings’ leadership, the Pirates are more than a high-performance team. They are part of a living community legacy — one rooted in family, service, and the belief that the true measure of success is the character of the young people the program helps shape.
