Infield | Outfield | 6’3”, 165 lbs | Bats/Throws: Right/Right | Hometown: Surrey, BC

Max Bergen steps into his first season with the North Delta Pirates, joining his brother Oskar on the roster and bringing a rare combination of size, skill, and baseball intelligence to the team. Now in Grade 12, Max has been playing baseball for six years, gaining valuable experience with Surrey Canadians, South Fraser Giants, and North Langley Blue Sox. Across those programs, he has developed a reputation as a smart, competitive, and versatile player, capable of contributing in multiple positions and making an impact in crucial moments.

One of Max’s most memorable moments came during a championship game when he broke up a no-hitter with a clutch double. While the team ultimately fell short, Max remembers the game as the best he’s ever played — a defining experience that reflects his composure, determination, and ability to perform under pressure. Primarily an infielder and outfielder, Max is known for consistent hitting for both contact and power, combined with exceptional baseball IQ and situational awareness, allowing him to anticipate plays, make smart decisions on the field, and support his teammates in every game scenario.

Off the field, Max leads a well-rounded and active life. He enjoys hiking, playing guitar, drums, and piano, and reading, balancing his athletic pursuits with creative and intellectual interests that complement his disciplined approach to baseball. Coaches and teammates describe him as coachable, highly motivated, and fiercely competitive, always striving to improve while maintaining a team-first mindset. He applies these same qualities to his academics, prioritizing responsible time management and balancing the demands of schoolwork, practices, games, and personal growth.

Max is a dedicated and disciplined player, capable of excelling in high-pressure situations while continuously improving his skills. He is a motivated student-athlete, someone who understands the importance of commitment both in the classroom and on the field and is ready to contribute immediately to a competitive program.

In his first season with the Pirates, Max Bergen brings size, talent, poise, and determination, joining a team-first environment. His work ethic, competitive spirit, and eagerness to learn make him a player poised to leave a lasting mark on the North Delta Pirates program while continuing to grow as both an athlete and a leader.
