Countdown to Opening Day Begins as North Delta Pirates Unveil 2026 Team
NORTH DELTA, BC — March 2, 2026

The North Delta Pirates are proud to announce their official 2026 18U AAA roster — a dynamic, driven, and deeply connected group of fifteen athletes ready to represent North Delta and the surrounding area with pride.

After a competitive selection process, the Pirates’ coaching staff has invited and received commitments from the following players for the 2026 season:

Calvin Mattu, Connal Grant, Eliaz Murti, Jack Riley, Liam Jones, Lucas Stebbings, Matthew Sarkessian, Max Bergen, Noah Grant, Oskar Bergen, Paul Stringer, Payton Harper, Scott Ormston, Tevin Bentley, and Tyler Conway.

This year’s roster reflects both continuity and new energy. Ten players have developed through the North Delta Baseball Association (NDBA), while five athletes are joining NDBA programming for the first time — a testament to the growing reputation and competitive standard of the Pirates program.

The team’s composition speaks to its depth and leadership:

·       6 first-year players (five 2010-born Grade 10 athletes and one 2011-born Grade 9 athlete)

·       1 Grade 11 player

·       8 Grade 12 players providing veteran experience

·       9 players residing in North Delta

·       6 players joining from South Delta, South Surrey, Newton, Cloverdale, and Surrey

“We are incredibly excited about this group,” said Head Coach Jeff Stebbings. “This roster reflects not only talent, but character, work ethic, and a commitment to team-first baseball. Our players have put in the work, and they are hungry for the opportunity ahead.”

The 2026 season home opener will be on Sunday, April 5th at Mackie Park, where the Pirates will host the Chilliwack Cougars in what promises to be an electric start to the campaign. First pitch is scheduled for noon.

The Pirates’ 2026 schedule will feature 36 league matchups, with home games at Mackie Park and road contests across the Lower Mainland, Fraser Valley, Vancouver Island, and the Okanagan. The season will culminate at the Provincial Tournament, scheduled for July 23 – 26 at Aldergrove Athletic Park and a chance to represent BC in national competition.

Building on the foundation of prior seasons, the Pirates continue to emphasize pitching excellence, defensive precision, offensive execution, and leadership development. The 2026 team blends veteran poise with emerging talent — a combination designed to compete at the highest level of BC Minor Baseball.

Assistant Coach Shaun Jones added, “We have strong leadership in our Grade 12 group and tremendous upside in our younger athletes. The culture in the clubhouse is positive, focused, and competitive. This is going to be a fun team to watch.”
