Mother’s Day Love - North Delta Pirates Take Game One of Double Header Against Kelowna SunDevils
The North Delta Pirates defeated the Kelowna SunDevils 4-1 to take the first game of a double header on Sunday morning.

A single by Nixon Wyatt put Kelowna on the board 1-0 in the top of the third.
In the bottom of the fifth a series of plays put North Delta ahead 3-1
With runners on the corners, Payton Harper laid down a bunt up the first base line. As the Kelowna catcher threw to first for the force out, Brendan Grant scored on a close, head-first slide into home.
With Lucas Stebbings on third, Tyler Conway hit a sacrifice fly to right and Stebbings tagged and scored.
With Tyler Bernabe on second, Ryo Ikeda doubled to right, scoring Bernabe.
The North Delta Pirates added one additional run in the sixth, earning a 4-1 victory.
Ikeda earned the win for the North Delta Pirates. The right-handed pitcher gave up nine hits and one run over seven innings, striking out eight and walking one.
Oliver Vereschagin took the loss for Kelowna. The righty went four and two-thirds innings, giving up three runs on seven hits, striking out one and walking three.
The North Delta Pirates collected ten hits in teh game.
Riku Sakuta went 3-for-3 at the plate to lead North Delta in hits.
Noah Saunders collected two hits for the North Delta Pirates in three at bats.
Wyatt led Kelowna with one run batted in. The second baseman went 2-for-3 on the day.
Vereschagin went 3-for-3 at the plate to lead Kelowna in hits.
Kelowna turned one double play in the game.
